What You See Is What You Get
One of my favorite songs from the "70's is a song by the Dramatics called, What You See Is What You Get. Like many songs from that era, the title seems almost prophetic. There are many among us who see a world full of sadness and pain; populated by people who are mean, selfish, and uncaring; This can be quite depressing; Is it any wonder that we have so many people showing signs of depression and anxiety? The fact is, they are only getting or becoming what they see.
Thankfully, there is another choice, another way of looking at the world. Genesis 1:27 says that we are all created in the image and likeness of the Creator. If that is true, and it is, we are all Spiritual Beings, filled with love and compassion. Once we begin looking for the love that exists in everyone we meet, we will begin to find it. It will then be easier to share our love with others, and do our part in creating a new Heaven and a new Earth.
There are only two ways to correctly see the actions of others. We can see their actions as either loving actions, or we can see them as a call for love. If their actions are loving, we can return their love, and as a result, the world will have more love. If their actions are a call for love, we can share our love with them, and, again, the world will have more love. Either way, we win, and so does everyone we meet.
The choice is yours! What you see is what you get. And remember, if you choose wrongly, you can always choose again.
