We Expect Far Too Little of Children

We don't expect too much of children, we expect far too little.  In my 30+ years working with children, I realized that children would perform and conform to what I expected of them.  This has been referred to as the Self-fulfilling Prophesy or Pygmalion Effect. Once we set an expectation and believe it in our hearts, it's amazing the results.
